Failed pillow cover

So I started on an new Fair Isle pillow cover for my mother.

I started by finding the designs I wanted to make in my Fair Isle book.
Drew them on a piece of paper.
Found the yarns I wanted to use.
Even counted rows and stitches on a pillow cover I had already made,
to make sure I got right.

But, but.

I got pretty far before I decided with myself that I really had made it too small.
It would fit a 35x35 pillow, ( though I haven't been able to find one anywhere).
It was supposed to fit a 40x40 pillow you see, so I had gotten it all wrong.
Damn.
And when I really looked at it, I decided I really didn't like the colours quite enough.
Damn x two.

So I took it off the needles and started again, with more stitches added.
I haven't unravelled it.
I will keep it as a reminder.

I am considering whether to change colours on both background and the design,
or to keep the background in one colour, and only change colour on the design.

Though I can feel I am more reluctant to knit on the new pillow cover,
because I have allready kinda done it.
It is like if you knit socks one at a time, when you get to number two, your sorta bored.

Mitten try nr. 5

 The pattern drawn up

Mitten try nr. 5

These mittens I made for a friend of mine, for her birthday

knitted on 2,5 mm needles.
The hand is 30x2 sts = 60 sts in all.
The design is from my book "200 Fair Isle Designs"  by Jane Mucklestone.
The thumb is knitted over 22 sts.
The wrist is 40 sts in purl.
The cuff is 6 sts x 11 = 66 sts in all.
The cuff edges is 66 st, knitted in purl.

 Mittens in the making

 Front of mittens

 Back of mittens

In hindsight I wish I had used two yarns which were more different,
so that the design would have stood out more.
Now it is a bit muddled, and hard to see.

Stars from teabags

What have I been up to?
Been making stars from teabags.
Still not knitting.
Been searching for a good book to read. Which has proved rather troublesome since the lirary doesn't have the ones I want to read, and I have no money to buy any.
I did get "In her shoes" by jennifer Weiner from the library though.
Drunken loads of tea, of course.
Enjoying that the atumn has finally arrived!
Which means cardigans, scarfs, beautifull trees, tea and hygge.

The lastest flowers from my parents garden :)

Christmas drawings

 I made these Christmas drawings,
sketches preparing to make Christmas cards for my parents.

Last year I made cards with Christmas-y collages on them.
You can see them here.

I found the motifs on google picture search, and on Pinterest

The words that are written on each of them,
are, "Gl├Ždelig Jul",
meaning Merry Christmas.

I know it is a bit early for Christmas related things,
but Christmas cards do have a tendency to have to be done by December.
So when I get hold of the cards that are to become Christmas cards,
I'l be sketching away.

Embroidered pencil case

Embroidered pencil case:

Started some time around early summer.
The Fair Isle designs are from a Fair Isle book I got.
Took me ages to pull myself together to make it into a pencil case.
It just seemed so difficult!
Hand stiched the embroidery together with the lining and zipper,
which proved a bit difficult.
So the result is not perfect I am afraid.
But my mother likes it, which is the most important thing, since I made it for her!

The pencil case with lining, and a zipper.
